New Cartography - Literary Journal
In January 2013, I worked with The New Wolf to develop a visual language for the first issue of the literary journal New Cartography. The issue featured original fiction, journalism, and poems inspired by the theme of the urban environment. Influenced by this, I created a 3D map which functioned as a visual index of the issue.
Each paper structure therefore referenced an article in the journal which included writing inspired by a London cemetery, Parisian Brutalism, and the peculiar architecture of Fast Food drive throughs.
The individual paper models were photographed on a background created from Christopher Wren's original redesign of the City of London. I digitally reworked the map so it could become a generic blueprint for a perfectly designed city space .
